Climate control

Article Abstract:

Wisconsin's Dept of Transportation has created a customized forecasting and weather condition reporting system that allows it to identity winter road maintenance need using satellite communications. The system's database of weather information is supported by infrared pavement temperature sensors and a training program that educates maintenance personnel on how to analyze weather information. The reporting system can also be utilized during the summer for pavement marking and concrete pour operations.

Pterodaustro's true teeth

Article Abstract:

The filter-feeding, Early Cretaceous Pterodaustro guinazui has been called one of the oddest-looking pterosaurs ever found. This is mainly due to its peculiar mandibular teeth that number around 1,000. Due to their fineness and baleen-like arrangement, paleontologists have long regarded their teeth as bristle-like structures that were not actual teeth. However, morphological and histological studies of the Pterodaustro's mandibular filter-feeding apparatus showed that it is composed of true teeth.
