Critical characteristics of fabric quality

Article Abstract:

A study was conducted to find out the significance of fabric quality to home sewers and the major characteristics used in assessing fabric quality. The results showed that quality was of primary importance in purchasing fabrics. It was also revealed that subjects were more interested in the physical characteristics of the fabric rather than its performance characteristics. These crucial characteristics were color, print, design, fiber content, weight and fineness.

Quantitative analysis of fashion change: a critical review

Article Abstract:

A review of quantitative research materials on the process of fashion change indicated that fashion change is notincidental nor deterministic. The process is an ongoing manifestation of cultural change rather than the product life cycle of a certain fashion. Reviewed materials showed that persistent dress materials in any year were highly synonymous with their values the previous year.
