Cotter & Co Pres/CEO Dan Cotter talks about the future of TruServ, the company formed as a result of the merger between Cotter & Co and Servistar. TruServ is in the process of unifying the operations, product assortments and the distribution centers of Cotter and Servistar. TruServ is also planning to increase its services to retailers to help them better compete with big-box stores, discontinue Servistar private-label brands and reorganize Cotter and Servistar niche programs.

Cotter board holds 'last supper.'(organizational meeting celebrating Cotter's 50th anniversary)

Article Abstract:

The Cotter & Co board of directors held its final organizational meeting on the company's 50th anniversary on July 16, 1997. The company's veterans and board members spoke about Cotter's beginnings and evolution into the largest hardware wholesaler in the US. Cotter reorganized its power equipment manufacturing operations and its V&S store division and established a $35,000 minimum purchase requirement annually following the death of John Cotter, its founder, in 1989.
