Sisters Shirley Welch and Marie Caillet have been gardening together in their family home in Lewisville Lake, TX, since 1968. Gardening has helped Shirley, 94, and Marie, 82, to keep fit even in their old age. Shirley continues to grow bearded iris which their mother, Laura, started in the late 1920s.

These evergreens make good neighbors

Article Abstract:

Florida leucothoe is one of a number of evergreens which are ideal for making a screen. It grows between 8ft and 12ft tall, and has glossy leaves. Another attractive evergreen is Japanese anise.
