National Museum of the American Indian

Article Abstract:

Smithsonian Institution's National Museum of the American Indian (NMAI) celebrated its grand opening, which attracted more than 25,000 Native Americans from 500 tribes and communities throughout America. NMAI has the largest and most exclusive collection of Native American art and artifacts in the world-approximately 800,000 objects representing over 10,000 years of history, from more than 1,000 indigenous cultures throughout the Western Hemisphere.

Article Abstract:

The Creative Glass Center of America (CGCA), established in 1983 has provided resident fellowships for glass artists from around the world, enabling them to work at Wheaton's excellent glass facilities and to receive technical support. The Museum of American Glass at Wheaton Village organized an exhibition comprising 103 works by 105 former and existing CGCA fellows to celebrate the 20th anniversary of this program.
