Article Abstract:

Randy and Leo Schmid used a nautical theme to decorate the new family room of their home in St. Louis, Missouri. The room features soft gray-blue and sand-colored fabrics that re-create the colors of the beach. The simple pine wood floors are covered in sisal carpeting that provides a textured feel. The room also features two built-in pieces of furniture that provide storage and cottage charm. The Schmids decorated the room with their collection of American antiques and reproduction pieces, colonial furnishings and nautical souvenirs.

Article Abstract:

Interior designer Laura Miller redecorated the bathroom in her 1891 home by adding a marble-top sink, sconces, brass towel holders, luxurious wallpaper, a miniature crystal chandelier and an antique carpet. Some of the unusual items that she chose as decorating accessories for the bathroom include antique dishes, a needlepoint pillow, an antique silver brush set and jewelry.
