Pro lets suppliers promote his work

The St.Louis, MO-based custom home remodeler Ralph Zuke is further boosting his business by maintaining close relationships with its building material suppliers and designers. Monticello Contracting, Zuke's company, lets its suppliers manage various remodeling packages, sell them to interested clients and provide work to the company. Zuke has reached agreements with Builders Plumbing & Heating Supply, St. Louis Hardwoods and Metropolitan Design Co to advertise his company's business and get new contracts.

Builder error ensnares many

Article Abstract:

Carpenter Ralph Zuke ran into problems after installing a hardwood floor when the customer called complaining that the floor was sagging. Zuke discovered that the home builder had used a bad floor joist, and this same conclusion was reached by a Bruce Hardwood Floors representative. Both the flooring supplier and the manufacturer gave Zuke plenty of support through his ordeal.

High-end bathroom project a challenge

Article Abstract:

A design developed by Metropolitan Design Co for an elaborate $35,000 bathroom remodel posed a bit of a problem for Ralph Zuke. The home was built in 1935 and the plan called for electric in-floor heating. Among the technical problems the situation posed was the hot water heater and the water pressure. How Zuke resolved the problems are discussed.
