Vertical Gardening

Article Abstract:

Vertical gardens take up less space, keep vegetables safer from pests and rodents, and need less weeding than traditional gardens. Almost any vining vegetable of flower can be grown this way, including tomatoes, melons, pole beans, peas, cucumbers, summer squashes and smaller winter squashes. All one needs to grown a vertical vegetable garden is a trellis with strong support, fertile soil, and 6 inches or so of leaves, grass, or other mulch to protect the trellis beds from drying out.
