Westmoreland Glass: 1950-1984

The Westmoreland Glass Co, based in Grapeville, PA, until its 1984 closing, was known for its quality production of milk glass which is prized by collectors. The glass is known for its various patterns, such as American Hobnail, Paneled Grape and Old Quilt.

Cut glass: changes in the Russian Pattern

Article Abstract:

Cut glass catalogues use the term 'Russian Pattern' for American cut glass ordered for the Imperial Russian Embassy in Washington, DC in 1885. Several widely-used variations, such as 'White House,' hobnail, pyramidal and miter divisions are analyzed.
