ATMI praises federal moves to curb imports

The American Textile Manufacturers Institute (ATMI) has expressed its support for new U.S. government procedures to protect the American textile industry against Chinese textiles imports. However, the ATMI said it would have liked to see the protections implemented sooner.

Textile execs plan grassroots efforts against Chinese imports

U.S. textile executives are planning several grassroots initiatives to persude the administration of George W. Bush to protect their industry against Chinese imports. The executives are planning voter registration drives, lobbying efforts, and educational programs.

American, Japanese textile trade groups agree on issues
