Cone Decorative Fabrics taps Engle

Cone Decorative Fabrics, a division of Cone Mills that makes John Wolf and Cone Jacquards, has appointed Murray Engle as its new president. Engle has been president of John Wolf since 1997 following his stint as executive vice president for sales and marketing for John Wolf and Cone Jacquards at the Cone Mills division. Engle will be responsible for consolidating John Wolfe and Cone Jacquards particularly on the sales side. Engle said that the integration of the sales force will be undertaken on a slow and gradual basis aimed at becoming a major resource force.

Federated launches Macys.Com

Article Abstract:

Federated Department Stores has formed a new unit called Macys.Com in a move to utilize commerce opportunities on the Internet. The new unit is part of the firm's campaign to leverage its merchandise strength and trademark forte through non-conventional retail venues. Macys.Com, which features bilingual offerings, currently features Federated's bridal registry, gifts, hosiery and jewelry as well as other cosmetics and apparel. Federated is further planning a next line for Macys.Com that will feature food and related items.
