A revolution in First Aid training

Article Abstract:

St John Ambulance's CD-ROM Interactive First Aid is well-constructed and enjoyable to use. Users study a range of suitably challenging situations, including a car crash and a near-drowning incident, and make decisions concerning priority actions, equipment and treatments. The program then offers information on first aid appropriate for those situations. The CD-ROM includes a challenging test, but information on the contents of first aid kits was unusual. There are other minor drawbacks but overall the CD-ROM offers useful teaching and value for money.

Interactive training on display screen equipment requirements

Article Abstract:

The KeepfIT computer-based health and safety training package from Appris covers seven modules and a quiz. It focuses on people using display screen equipment, and provides useful information about how to sit correctly and how to prevent eye strain. It covers wider issues too, including patterns of working and the overall working environment. The user interface is generally well thought out, and the question and answer features are able to cope with most user errors.
