A template for OH services

Article Abstract:

The UK government has encouraged private-sector participation in advising small and medium-sized business enterprises on health and safety issues. It has emphasized the potential for alliances with bigger companies. Large companies, including IBM and ICI, have experience to share concerning health and safety services, as they are successfully introducing new practices and systems. One system involves training line managers so they can be responsible for the health and safety of the employees they supervise.

Conquering the workplace heavyweights

Article Abstract:

The risk of serious back injury has been reduced by the development of an innovative manhole cover which can easily be operated by two people. The Brickhouse Tri-Glade manhole cover remover places less pressure on the back, causing up to 35% less pressure on the torso and lumber regions. The Tri-Glide system works by reducing the amount of rotation involved in removing a manhole cover using conventional methods.
