Collective bargaining in 1999

Article Abstract:

The SGB Swiss trade union confederation surveyed member groups about the outcome of collective bargaining in 1999 and early 2000. The findings are discussed. Overall, pay settlements were low but above inflation, and some reductions to the work week time were made by some unions. Deals are discussed by industry and by region.

EMF reviews progress on coordinated bargaining strategy

Article Abstract:

A new strategy to be considered to better coordinate collective bargaining policies in the metalworking sector in various European countries is analyzed at the European Metalworkers' Federation (EMF) conference. Additional information on EMF's collective bargaining strategy is included.
