Collective bargaining in 2002

Article Abstract:

Survey findings from the German economics and labour ministry are reviewed. The key elements of collective bargaining round of 2002 includes, 3.2% pay increase, working hours 37.65, and there was increasing pay harmonisation between east and west.

Intensified debate on early retirement

There is a debate taking place in Denmark on the possible reform of the country's early retirement system. The debate is being driven by reports that support employers' efforts to reduce access to the system.

Redundancy payments rise

Article Abstract:

Ireland implemented a new statutory redundancy payment system on May 25, 2003. The system will cover two weeks worth of pay for every year of service.
