Expatriate adjustment as a multifaceted phenomenon: individual and organizational level predictors

Article Abstract:

The success of an overseas posting is due to several reasons such as pre-expatriate planning and development, assistance from the local company in addition to support from the larger organisation and an employee's ability to fit into a new living and working environment. A model has been developed in order to help employees adjust to working abroad. Local and parent company management and an employee's individual personality, experiences abroad and skills are all considered before departure and after the overseas posting has been taken up.
