Expatriate selection: good management or good luck?

Article Abstract:

One of the important factors in human resource management of multinational companies is management of expatriation. An analysis of the manner in which private, public and non-government organizations in Australia select their expatriates is presented. Apart from technical competence, the selected employees and their families are tested for psychological adaptability.

Article Abstract:

The importance of training the Australians being deputed to China to enable them to manage the multicultural aspects related to their job is discussed. The factors like employee selection and assistance from Australian expatriates based in China etc. are also discussed.
