The health and safety software package She Professional 6.0 is designed to consider the environmental implications of health and safety issues. It is fully conformant with Health and Safety Executive regulations and comprises of discrete areas of functionality in a flexible modular format. Functions include accident reporting, risk assessment and decision support. It costs at least 495 pounds sterling and is available from the software manufacturer Lexware.

Expert MSDS software for suppliers of hazardous chemicals

Article Abstract:

The EcoSci COSHH Expert software is designed to help suppliers of hazardous chemicals to meet the EU directive which requires them to supply Material Safety Data Sheets (MSDS) and road transport emergency cards (TREM cards) with each chemical. The software costs from 240 pounds sterling, and it includes information on 10,000 products, with plans for 50,000 in 1998. The product is ranked 'excellent' on content and 'good' on visual presentation and usability.

3M's Respiratory Hazards Audit software offers information about respiratory protective equipment suitable for working with harmful substances. The package is designed to offer protective, rather than preventative advice and it is primarily aimed at small businesses without a health and safety department. The software scored 'average' on content and usability, with a 'good' for visual presentation.
