Including US group insurance contracts in multinational pooling

Article Abstract:

Multinational employers can benefit from the inclusion of US group life insurance contracts in pooling agreements. Multinational pooling works by experience rating each group insurance contract included in the pool, and "pooling" the net results. Aside from providing positive balances averaging 6% of annual premiums, US group life insurance contracts often provide coverage for bigger number of employees. Insurance networks can also bring down risk charges and secures greater potential to keep business in the pool.

The AIDS pandemic: implications for multinational insurers and employers

Article Abstract:

An overview of how insurance companies and multinational employers are meeting the challenge of AIDS worldwide is provided. Of specific concern is the exclusion of AIDS-related claims by non-US insurers from coverage. Several measures which companies can adopt to reconcile the requirements of cost-containment with corporate commitments for the provision of adequate insurance coverage are also provided.
