Labour law

Article Abstract:

Switzerland's labor laws cover the contractual aspects of employment, aside from social insurance, compulsory occupational pension arrangements and collective labor agreements. The law excludes independent professions, which are governed by the rules of the 'mandate contract' of the Swiss Code of Obligations. Labor disputes are a rare occurrence in the country owing to collective labor agreements made between unions and the individual employer or a group of employers. These agreements cover working hours, notice of termination, social insurance, salary, vacation, among others.

Remuneration: tax-effective benefits

Article Abstract:

Remuneration systems in Belgium are influenced by new developments all over the world. Its highly regulated labour market with traditional consultation between employers and trade unions has produced sector-wide collective labour agreements. High taxes and social security contributions have led to the popularity of tax-friendly remuneration such as a car plans, expense allowances and other social benefits. Retirement plans, death and disability coverage and medical insurance are important parts of the social security system.
