Light satanic mills?

Article Abstract:

Customer call centers may be gaining the reputation of high-stress workplaces, yet most employ good human resources practices and have a very real desire to invest in staff, as the Merchants Group concluded in its 1990s study of call centers. This report did, however, identify absentee levels of between 4% and 20% indicating possibly serious stress or morale problems. Concerns of the report included in addition to turnover rates and morale that of the need for communication.
