Making employee self-service work for employees and your company

Article Abstract:

Many factors are involved in ensuring that the implementation of employee self-service applications in human resources will be successful. Some of the issues that need to be considered before such changes are implemented include the organization's definition of success, the employer's definition of self-service, and the profiles of the people who are being asked to define these issues. Four strategies that would help employees help themselves include focusing on outcomes, creating real value for employees, effective marketing, and planning for change and growth.

It's not enough to offer work/life programs - you need to promote them

Article Abstract:

The implementation of work/life benefits within the organization may not be enough to ensure employee satisfaction. Employee communications also play an important part in personnel management. Companies must compel management staff in making job enrichment programs known and involve them in furthering the idea that satisfied employees have a positive effect on the company. Employees must be made to realize that these work/life programs can help them in effectively managing their work/life responsibilities.
