Multinational pooling - a must?

Article Abstract:

The concept of multinational pooling is based on economies of scale and is known as multinational experience rating. A transnational group of insurance carriers consolidate insurance contracts regarding employee benefits obtained by a multinational corporation on a worldwide basis. The pool is also a tax-effective technique of organizing the transfer of premiums and reserves and has the major benefit of providing the possible negotiation of a single global reinsurance contract instead of a collection of individual contracts per country.

The European Pension Plan - myth or reality?

Article Abstract:

Companies doing business in the European Union are faced with the challenge of providing similar retirement benefits throughout the region. Creating a single European pension plan poses a number of problems, including those related to the form and taxation of benefits, salary convergence, single currency, and compulsory systems. Since there is no standard pan-European approach to pension management as yet, multinational companies should limit themselves to benefit systems that are practicable.

Early retirement terms in Europe

Article Abstract:

An analysis of employee retirement conditions in European countries was presented. The social security systems of various European nations and employer attitudes in providing pension plans were analyzed to establish correlations between employer-sponsored plans with social security. Early retirement plans have complex mechanisms, and multinational corporations will find European retirement schemes unachievable in the near future.
