Small businesses bask in training's spotlight

Article Abstract:

Small Business Administration's (SBA) Small Business Training Network program is a cooperative effort with the private sector that provides technical assistance to existing prospective small business owners. This Training Network serves as an opening to all of the traditional, face-to-face technical programs launched by the SBA during the 1950s periods and provides self-paced, nut-and bolts courses of relevance to the entrepreneur.

Trust and powerful learning: High trust leads to high learning, which leads to high performance

Article Abstract:

Most companies view effective learning as formal training using courses and curricula, but for many employees, effective learning takes place only if there is an inherent trust between the organization and the learner. High mutual trust leads to high learning resulting in high employee commitment and therefore, high performance, with managers who work with great effort and dedication to bring out the best in their employees.
