In the round up of the European Union social policy developments, the notable events in the Presidency of the Italian government are the formal adoption of the European Cooperative Society statute, the issue of a new proposal on cross - border mergers, and on equal treatment in the access to goods and services. The proposal for directive on terms and conditions for temporary workers remains untouched.
