Staffing marketing positions during global hyper-competitiveness: a market-based perspective

Article Abstract:

This paper examines staffing issues in a global hyper-competitive market. Among other things, a market-based theoretical framework for identifying and choosing managers who will be effective in such a market is developed and the role of multiculturalism in creating a global management competency is discussed.

Global virtual teams: a human resource capital architecture

Article Abstract:

The formation and functioning of global virtual teams (GVTs) are discussed by making use of a theoretical model based on competency theory. Four significant capitals required for the efficacy of a GVT - human, social, political and cross-cultural capitals - are discussed in detail.

Strategic global human resource management research in the twenty-first century: an endorsement of the mixed-method research methodology

Article Abstract:

The inadequacy of quantitative models in setting up strategic global human resource management systems is highlighted. A well-balanced mix of quantitative and qualitative techniques can enable a proper understanding of global issues of HRM through their flexibility.
