The application of change management theory to HR portal implementation in subsidiaries of multinational corporations

Article Abstract:

Human resources (HR) portal applications are vehicles through which HR information and applications can be channeled effectively and efficiently thereby reducing the administrative role of the HR department. Implementation of HR portal must take into account the challenges of both change management and technology acceptance. A model that integrates change management theories and IT user acceptance models is presented. The key issues of these theories are addressed by a case study of Hewlett-Packard's implementations of @HP Employee Portal in its Italian subsidiary.
