The coffee-machine system: how international selection really works

Article Abstract:

The selection process for international managers often fails to produce the best candidate for the job because the method by which selection is made us usually internal and unofficial. Appointments can be made on the spur of the moment, without taking into account the true qualities needed for the job. Women are also disadvantaged at management level because the majority of managers are male and tend to operate in a closed, sexist code.
