The effect of corporate-level organizational factors on the transfer of human resource management practices: European and US MNCs and their Greek subsidiaries

Article Abstract:

Data from 80 European and US multinational companies with Greek subsidiaries are used to study the effect of corporate-level organizational factors on the transfer of human resource management practices. Transfer of these practices are most affected by the level of importance the MNC's top management attaches to HRM and international experience.

A knowledge transfer perspective of strategic assignment purposes and their path-dependent outcomes

Article Abstract:

The strategic purposes of expatriate assignments within multinational corporations and their path-dependent outcomes are researched. The results highlight the need for firms to plan consciously for expatriate learning, manage it effectively during an assignment and re-invest it wisely in terms of future roles for the particular expatriate.

The contribution of expatriates to the multinational corporation's objectives of global efficiency, responsiveness, and worldwide learning is studied. Kn owledge applications and experiential le arning among expatriates is studied. Experiential learning is vital for corporate assignments.
