Australian insurance companies are taking advantage of artificial intelligence technology to improve their market standing. Personal lines insurers handling workers' compensation cases have utilized the Colossus expert system, a branch of artificial intelligence that assesses damages for motor vehicle bodily injury claims. Expert systems and other forms of artificial intelligence help lower claims incidence and costs and reduce expenses.

Sick-building litigation raises stake for insurers

Article Abstract:

Indoor air pollution has become a problem since the mid-1980s. The construction of energy efficient buildings; which restrict air flow and air circulation; the introduction of new building materials and the combination of chemical pollutants have caused many of these problems. Insurance companies need to be prepared because of the risks involved with workers' compensation claims and liability lawsuits.
