Richard A. Cecchettini, 1991-1992 president of the American Land Title Assn (ALTA), shares his views about the title insurance industry and ALTA. He believes the best service ALTA can provide is to help educate its members, clients, the public and government regulators about the title insurance industry and the economic realities that affect the industry. He feels the industry has been open to women and minorities, but the slow rate of advancement discourages some of the best candidates from entering the industry.

Article Abstract:

Employers must be in compliance with the Americans with Disabilities Act as of Jul 26, 1992. Several key provisions of the act that affect employers include definitions of disabled persons and what actions are considered to be discriminatory, what accommodations employers must make to disabled persons who work for them and the public they serve, and exceptions available to employers complying with the act.
