Article Abstract:

The National Assn of Insurance Commissioners has issued a new regulation that requires insurance companies to issue the Management's Discussion and Analysis in addition to their annual financial statements. This supplementary report should include information on cash flow, liquidity, operating results, financial position for the preceding two years and changes in capital and surplus accounts. The regulation is based on a similar 1980 regulation established by the Securities and Exchange Commission.
