Re-entry illustrations will haunt industry

Article Abstract:

Life insurance agents using re-entry values to compare the benefits of different term life policies are misleading consumers. Eventually the government or the courts may intervene on behalf of consumers, unless the industry stops making reference to re-entry values. Alternatively, agents should compare current or guaranteed renewal premiums for term life. Also, consumers may perceive re-entry values as renewal premiums, which they are not.

Riders can benefit both agent and prospect

Article Abstract:

Riders on life insurance policies enable agents to expand coverage and create policies tailored to the needs of policyholders. Riders vary in cost and restrictions and are available for accidental death benefits, waiver of premium, guaranteed insurability and to add coverage for a spouse or child. Insurance agents should explain available riders to clients, thus eliminating exposure to lawsuits.

Selling to America's rainbow

Article Abstract:

Insurance companies are realizing the potential of marketing products to long-ignored ethnic populations.
