Article Abstract:

The levelized commission system has several advantages in the life insurance business. Under this scheme, payments to the agents are spread over a period of years which encourages the agents to develop long-term relationships with clients and a more stable book of business. The difficulty however, lies on the necessity to increase the understanding on the company's sales strategy to implement the levelized commission system. This is probably one of the reasons why some insurance companies are still reluctant to switch from a heaped commission basis to the new levelized compensation program.

Baby boomers, older generation need different life products

Article Abstract:

Trillions of dollars will be bequeathed to the baby-boomer generation, who will also be saving for retirement by the year 2015. The financial services industry will have to provide the right products during these years in order to take advantage of this. The variable second-to-die is the newest form of policy in the life insurance industry. It is geared to the wealthy couple in their 40s and 50s, and is a logical extension of the variable life policy.
