Saudi Arabia: The Diamond Jubilee

Article Abstract:

Five Saudi kings each played a significant role in the social and economic development of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. King Abdul Aziz set in place the infrastructure needed for mobility and development. King Saud, though profligate and almost brought ruin to the Kingdom, is credited with expanding the educational system and transforming Riyadh into a cosmopolitan city. King Faisal steered Saudi Arabia to its place as an economic and political power. King Khalid's reign brought further economic boom. King Fahd is laying down the framework for a modern constitution and democracy.
