Afghanistan: the reconstruction process

Article Abstract:

This article examines the amount of support the interim government of Afghanistan is receiving from the international community. The author, maintaining the current situation in Afghanistan is very fragile, argues that if the new government is going to survive the international community must stay committed to providing sustained support for the long haul.

Just war or ethical peace? moral discourses of strategic violence after 9/11

Article Abstract:

A range of moral discourses that are deployed to support the war on terror including its extension to Iraq is analyzed. A survey is made regarding the humanitarian costs in civilian life, instability and suffering sustained during the military operation in Afghanistan and Iraq.

Transitional justice and human rights in Afghanistan

This article addresses a peace-building mission is Afghanistan. The author, maintaining the Afghani people have been suffering abuses since 1978, argues any possibility of peace involves emphasizing the suffering of the victims rather than the guilt of the perpetrators.
