Demystifying democratization: The global constitution of (neo)liberal polities in Africa

Article Abstract:

A study of the theoretical and material underpinnings of the great-power-defined agenda of democratization with the help of the global constitution of (neo)liberal polities in Africa is presented. The democratization project attempts to reproduce within Africa the patterns of transformation that characterized the transition to capitalist modernity in northwest Europe.

Corruption, collusion and nepotism in Indonesia

Article Abstract:

Corruption in Indonesia became prominent enough in the Suharto regime to be given the acronymn KKN (Korrupsi, Kollusi, Nepotisme), meaning corruption, collusion and nepotism. The economic collapse since Suharto's departure from power in 1997 has identified shortcomings blocking renewal and recovery.
