Defining our work: issues before the House of Delegates should serve justice and the profession

Article Abstract:

The American Bar Association (ABA) House of Delegates should choose whether or not make a statement on issues based on whether the issue has an important legal component or the ABA can make a valuable contribution to the subject. Issues of equal justice, rule of law and the strength of the justice system are relevant to the ABA while social and political issues, such as physician-assisted suicide, should be avoided. The ABA needs to maintain its reputation for nonpartisan, professional views.
