Taking charge; an activist court rules on speech, immigration and one big election

Article Abstract:

A statistical survey of the Supreme Court's 2000-2001 term is given. The court issued 79 rulings, with 26 5-4 splits, and 46% of the rulings unanimous. Statistics on the rulings' subject are given, and the justices' track record during the term is summarized.
