A question of substance; sobriety checkpoints ok, but courts split on drug roadblocks

Article Abstract:

Issues are discussed concerning the success of drunk driving roadblocks in limiting substance abuse on highways. Federal and state courts have differed during the last decade on the constitutionality on these stops, with the US Court of Appeals for the 11th Circuit upholding the practice while the 6th, 10th and D.C. Circuits have struck it down.

Playing by the roles; to avoid liability, don't blur lines between of counsel and partner

Article Abstract:

Law firms using of counsel can minimize liability by differentiating the relationship as much as possible. This means sets of stationery with different letterheads, and that of counsel should never use office stationery unless handling a matter for the firm. Of counsel arrangements may create shared professional liability, but most liability problems result from use of the letterhead.
