Suits over shuttle crash face hurdles; law changed after disaster in 1986

Article Abstract:

Case law extending limited governmental immunity to many defense contractors which will keep the Columbia astronauts' survivors from obtaining compensation for the disaster is discussed. This was not true at the time of the Challenger disaster.

First trial for Bayer's Baycol set to start; plaintiff in Texas case seeks $100M

Article Abstract:

The first medical product liability case regarding adverse side effects of Bayer Corp.'s cholesterol-lowing drug Baycol is discussed. The side effect is rhabdomyolysis and the case is Haltom v. Bayer Corp.
