Taxman has interest in Internet biz; states at odds with Clinton over moratorium proposal

Article Abstract:

Internet business increases exponentially and it does not fit comfortably into existing tax structure, which was built on tangible rather than intangible goods. Critics fear the Internet Tax Freedom Act, which has a six-year moratorium on new taxes unique to Internet commerce, is too vague and allows software and Internet service providers to avoid paying some existing taxes. Internet businesses would face massive tax burdens if every entity with the power to tax did so, the concern is keeping the opposite from happening.

Tools for job seeking and hiring: can you net a job off the 'Net?

Article Abstract:

One of the newer ways to find a job in the legal profession is to surf the 'Net. Many web sites have listings for attorneys and some are specifically dedicated to attorney employment. Web sites are less intrusive than calls to and from headhunters. As well, attorneys can post their resumes anonymously and only respond to those queries that are of interest.
