White papers go to Congress: software companies seek to combat Internet piracy and reduce patent litigation

Article Abstract:

Business Software Alliance submitted a white paper titled " Intellectual Property in the 21st Century" to the Congress. The document comprises of recommendations regarding issues such as patent litigation and software piracy. The alliance is also advocating the formation of national commission on organized cybercrime.

Three bills, referred to as the Jumpstart Broadband Act, have been introduced to the U.S. Congress. The bills would require the FCC to allocate spectrum for use by unlicensed broadband devices.
