Power brokers: Social network analysis helps show relationships between business, city

Article Abstract:

Investigative journalists need to be alert when it comes to politics and money since the rules have changed and there are more discrepancies when it comes to tracking the funds used by politicians. The journalists must recognize the changing norms and work towards exposing such affairs, whether it's using social network analysis, combing through campaign finance records, building databases or employing reporting.

Digging into history: AP investigates U.S. actions during Korean War

Article Abstract:

Details of an investigation are presented on a massacre of civilian refugees by American military forces during the Korean War. The incident, which happened at No Gun Ri, involved the shooting of civilians to clear a railroad trestle, and was revealed through mapping US military battalion positions and interviewing veterans.
