C-Cube chipset promises to end tape war

Article Abstract:

C-Cube Microsystems of the US has developed a new single-chip codec chipset dubbed DVxpress-MX which permits seamless transcoding between DV formats to mark its initial venture into DV compression. C-Cube director of firmware John Wu noted that a single interoperable platform is needed for the growth of video. Wu indicated that this company is known for its dedication to MPEG research and development for over 100 man years. C-Cube improved its DVxpress product which was launched earlier to come up with DVxpress-MX.
