Capturing a journey to freedom

Article Abstract:

Television documentary "The Great Escape" tackles the issue of of North Koreans fleeing the country, a dangerous task as Interfocus Asia executive producer Frank Smith shared. Production involved using technology to follow the pursuits of a Korean family to escape frmo the most repressive state in the world. How the idea for the film came about, and the show's production challenges, are discussed.
