Children's; boom time for kids

Article Abstract:

British children's programming is saturating the overseas market, and much of it is focused on related marketing opportunities. BBC Worldwide, for instance, is still enjoying the success of Teletubbies, and it is releasing a variety of new shows, including Tweenies, the new program aimed at pre-schoolers. Children's drama is also doing well, and this may have something to do with the success of United Productions' The Worst Witch.

A woman's place?

Article Abstract:

A recent survey has revealed that women in the television industry are more likely to be single than men. The government is currently being lobbied by the Women in Film and Television (WFTV) group for amendments to the equal opportunities clauses in the Broadcasting Bill. It is suggested that the television industry does not allow for part-time work, career breaks and concessions for family life.
