Cool for kids

Article Abstract:

As American children's television is being forced to raise standards and educational content of its programmes, other countries are looking to raise their own standards by attending the Second World Summit on Television for Children to be held in Mar 1998. Topics will include educational programming, entertainment value and listening to what children want. Chairperson of the summit Anna Home believes children must be entertained and not lectured at while watching television. She also will raise the question of who the programmes are made for, children or adults.

Hire education

Article Abstract:

Diminishing programme production budgets are forcing production managers in Britain to search for more cost-effective production equipment. Prices can vary enormously due to the increasingly competitive market conditions of 1995. Suppliers often need to lower their prices to guarantee work, particularly those organisations in London. Prices are expected to rise again once digital format technology becomes available, because some suppliers will be forced out of the marketplace.

The post-production industry has embarked on a mammoth spending spree, with facility houses investing in new workstations and graphics packages.
