Clever Trevor

Article Abstract:

Black television producer Trevor Phillips co-founded independent Pepper Productions in 1996. Its first major commission is a new series for BBC2 that tells the story of black people in Britain since the 1930s. The series, Windrush, is costing 600,000 pounds sterling to produce and will be screened at the end of May 1998. Phillips, who left his job as executive producer for LWT's factual programmes, says his ideal job would combine broadcasting work with public employment.
