Did we come all that way for this? A critical review of Aune's 'Rhetoric and Marxism.' (Jim Aune)

Article Abstract:

Jim Aune's 'Rhetoric and Marxism' reiterates that the lack of radical red rhetoric to espouse Marxist beliefs contributed to the debacle of Communist societies. The book revolves around political discourse as examined through rhetorical and cultural studies in an apparent attempt to strengthen both. However, the book fails to consider a Marxist-feminist perspective which ultimately results in a conservative, hence, contradictory standpoint.

They open opportunities for social reformers and policy makers to develop suitable policies on media advertising to protect children from the messages and intent of advertising that may cause them harm.
